Adding a bit of absurdist humor to the most recognizable G-Shock silhouette, Casio G-Shock joins forces with Adult Swim in a co-branded partnership that will bring the cult classic Aqua Teen Hunger Force to the watch maker’s DW6900AS-8 model. Uniting dedicated fans of both franchises, the G-Shock X Adult Swim X Aqua Teen Hunger Force timepiece fuses G-Shock toughness and technology with the sensibility and style that has become synonymous with the late night television network.
Cloaked in a white case with hot pink and black accents, the DW6900AS-8 pays tribute to the infamous Aqua Teen Hunger Force team made up of three human-sized food products – Meatwad, Frylock and Master Shake, and, with one press of a button, the watch face summons the iconic Ignignokt face. The watches were designed and created by Adult Swim designers Brandon Lively and Jacob Escobedo who derived inspiration from the Aqua Teen Volume 6 DVD cover.

“In this relationship with G-Shock, this is our first born. Hopefully, our next collaboration will result in sextuplets. We ultimately want a television show about raising sextuplet watches together,” said Escobedo. “When we approached the design of the watch, we started with the character icons that were originally designed for the cover of the Aqua Teen Volume 6 DVD and simplified the characters down to basic shapes and made a pattern that wraps around the band. The light up feature in G-Shock watches were a big sell for us; we’ve always wanted to make a watch with a light up Mooninite.”
As with every G-Shock timepiece, performance and durability are the foundations; the DW6900AS-8 features include shock resistance, water resistance to an incredible 200 meters, flash alert, multi-function alarm, countdown timer, 1/100 second stopwatch and 12/24 hour formats.
“G-Shock is pleased to partner with the unexpected,” said Shigenori Itoh, Vice President of Casio’s Timepiece Division. “The G-Shock X Adult Swim X Aqua Teen Hunger Force watch captures our commitment to offer our consumers collaborations with culturally relevant brands.”
Produced in a limited quantity, the DW6900AS-8 timepiece will feature a custom backcase engraving. Available in select stores and through the Adult Swim shop.

Hollywood’s hottest star, Taylor Lautner, proved he is also one of the most stylish, as he arrived at the “Eclipse” premiere in New York wearing a pale grey suit and dark shirt accented with Piaget’s Altiplano 40mm in white gold with a black dial. The Altiplano’s classically refined, yet modern in feel and ultraslim profile made it the perfect choice for Lautner, who has become a new fan of Piaget.
Looking every bit the leading man, Lautner waved to the hundreds of fans who had gathered outside the Crosby Hotel to catch a glimpse of the movie star before joining co-star Kristen Stewart on the red carpet where the two posed for photographers. The Piaget-sponsored premiere of the summer’s most highly anticipated film drew a number of celebrities and high profile New Yorkers, including Abigail Breslin, Cheyenne Jackson, Matchbox Twenty’s Rob Thomas, stylist Rachel Zoe, models Hilary Rhoda, Carol Alt and Dree Hemingway, Kelly Kilorean Bensimon, Lauren Bush and designers Rachel Roy, Cynthia Rowley and Georgina Chapman.
Also in attendance was Nic Roldan, Piaget’s polo ambassador who was in town for the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic where he captained Prince Harry’s team. Roldan wore the special limited edition version of the Piaget Polo FortyFive that Piaget created for the event.
Following the screening, Piaget hosted an intimate after-party in the Crosby Hotel’s private lounge.

Stylish Watch Features Solar-Powered Technology and Recycled Packaging
DOVER, NJ, March 17, 2010 — As one of the most rugged and highly advanced outdoorsman watches on the market, Casio America, Inc. is proud to announce a new edition to its Pathfinder collection, the PAG110C-3. The new Pathfinder will help men to not only brave the outdoors but also protect the environment with eco-conscious features including solar technology and recycled packaging.
Leading Casio’s “Go Green” spring collection of stylish watches with high functionality, the PRG110C-3 incorporates the company’s Tough Solar Technology which increases battery life through the regeneration of electrical power from sunlight. This technology decreases battery consumption associated with traditional watches, helping to cut down on the more than three billion batteries thrown away each year by Americans, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, which increase the presence of heavy metals in landfills and cause toxic contamination to the environment.
Staying true to the core Pathfinder features, the PAG110C-3 provides consumers with advanced outdoor capabilities. Featuring a digital compass, altimeter, barometer and thermometer, this model fits the needs of the serious outdoorsman. To address everyday needs, the PAG110C-3 has five daily alarms, a stopwatch and world time in 30 cities. The watch is also water resistant up to 100 meters and low temperature resistant, making it ideal for extreme climates.
In addition to the environmentally-friendly self-charging, tough solar power, the PAG110C-3 comes in recycled packaging that reduces the carbon footprint, eliminating the use of energy and resources in its creation.
“We’re very excited to welcome this new eco-friendly timepiece to the Pathfinder line,” said Shigenori Itoh, vice president of Casio’s Timepiece Division. “Casio is a company dedicated to supporting eco-friendly initiatives and we are very proud to introduce this solar-powered watch in conjunction with the celebration of Earth Day.”
Available in an earthy shade of green, the PAG110C-3 stylishly coordinates with an outdoorsman’s surroundings.

The campaign for the Oscars kicked into high gear at last night’s Piaget Men To Watch event, as Lee Daniels, the celebrated director of “Precious” toasted fellow Oscar hopeful Jeremy Renner, the star of “The Hurt Locker” which just swept the Gotham Awards. The two were being honored along with: Jeffrey Donovan, star of the TV series “Burn Notice”, celebrity chef, restaurateur and now author David Chang, fashion designer Michael Bastian, and top-ranked US polo player Nick Roldan.
Piaget acknowledged the distinguished group at an exclusive cocktail party and touted them as the ones to watch in the year ahead. “It’s a privilege to be in the company of these six accomplished gentlemen who exemplify style, strength of character and performance—the same ideals that we hold dear at Piaget,” said Larry Boland, President of Piaget NA. In recognition of their achievements, Larry Boland presented each of the honorees with a chronograph Piaget Polo FortyFive, the firm’s bold new titanium and steel men’s watch.
The event was held at the dramatic Lehmann Maupin Gallery on the Lower East Side, with the artwork of renowned British artist Tracy Emin providing a provocative backdrop for the festivities. An intimate crowd of New York’s best and brightest from the worlds of film, fashion, art and design joined Piaget to personally congratulate the honorees.

From September 2009 until March 2010, the IWC Museum is mounting a special exhibition, “The Club from IWC – Cult Watches Between Mechanical and Quartz”. Visitors embark on a journey into the eventful period of the 1960s and 70s and encounter selected models from the so-called IWC Club range with their associated catalogues and advertisements. The exhibition gives an exciting insight into the remarkable design history of IWC. The exhibition can be visited during the Museum’s official opening times.
The Yacht Club 1967 – luxurious, exclusive and robust; these were the attributes which IWC connoisseurs appreciated in the different versions of the Yacht Club. Until the mid-1970s, this watch developed into one of the most successful models from IWC. A series of other Club models were introduced to continue the success story of the first generation: the SL Collection in 1976 and the Yacht Club II in 1977. They were ahead of their time, however, and fell victim to the quartz crisis. Under the adverse economic conditions at the time, IWC manufactured only a small number of these distinctive sporting models. Today, every single one of them is considered to be a “cult watch” and is treasured by collectors all over the world.
In its day, the Yacht Club was one of the best-selling IWC watches; it dominated the highly imaginative advertisements of IWC in the early 1970s. These outstanding timepieces were especially popular as an anniversary present, because the Yacht Club managed to combine elegance and quality with the classic design of IWC like no other watch. The movement was spring-mounted inside the case – a shock-absorber system which has shown itself to be equally effective against both horizontal and vertical impacts. Most Yacht Club watches were equipped with the IWC automatic calibre 8541/854. A few examples were even fitted with the IWC hand-wound calibre 89.
The octagonal Yacht Club II made an extravagant impression when it first appeared in 1977. Its case was more modern, sporting and solid, and less traditional than that of the first Yacht Club generation. IWC customers were also offered the choice of a bicolour version alongside the variants in steel, yellow and white gold. IWC supplied a few of these watches with mechanical movements; then it was the advent of the quartz movement. The Yacht Club II remained part of the IWC collection until the mid-1980s.

Financial Times Deutschland writes that Diego Maradona has been busted by the Italian Tax police. They took his Rolexes (it seems that he always wears/wore two) and his diamond studded earrings. Now, I think a man should not wear earrings, but who am I.
Anyway, the Italian tax police took his 2 Daytonas. Worth approximately 10.000 Euro, according to the Financial Times Deutschland. I wonder whether if that is for one Rolex or for the two of them. If it is for two Rolex Daytonas, it is a bit unfair for Maradona. The 10.000 euro is being deducted from the 30.000.000,- Euro he still owes to the tax department. Because of their former owner, they might deliver some more euros if Italy is going to put them on eBay or Antiquorum. A sad day for Maradona.
